About Me

Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection. Mark Twain

What I Can Do

Completing the Web Development certificate at Seattle Central College in 2017 deepened my understanding of frontend development and introduced me to backend development. I feel competent working in HTML and CSS and am interested in exploring and acquainting myself further with the likes of JavaScript, jQuery, React.js, SASS, PHP, Java, Python, and SQL.

Beyond that I also enjoy copy editing, digital image editing, social media, writing for the web, and learning about web accessibility.

What I Can Do For You

One of my strengths is my high EQ. That coupled with an understanding of, and comfort with, the technical side of things means I can translate and operate as intermediary between developers and laypeople.

I have experience writing tests and running them. I've written an entire test suite that includes:

  • Browser Compatibility Tests
  • Example Tests
  • Exploratory Tests
  • Happy Path Tests
  • Negative Tests
  • Regression Tests
  • Smoke Tests
  • What Makes Me, Me

I love being outdoors and exploring new places. Travel revitalizes me and allows me to reconnect with myself and humanity. But when I’m not able to get too far from home running, cycling, hiking and camping all get me outside, unplugged and away from the computer for much needed balance. Balance is vital and I strive to maintain it, whether that means getting off the couch for exercise or DIYing to offset my consumerism. I’m passionate about finding new ways to minimize my impact on the environment and revel in discovering a new walk to avoid getting in the car or finding a way to avoid buying a plastic gadget.

    Community Work

For the last few years I’ve enjoyed volunteering at PAWS Cat City. As a volunteer I do scoop my share of litter boxes but I also I get to cuddle with outgoing feline characters, socialize introverts and help connect people with the feline personality that would make the best match for all parties. It is so pleasing to send a family home with a new friend.

When I get the chance, I also enjoy volunteering with local organizations like the Nature Consortium and the Green Seattle Partnership to help remove invasive species and plant native flora in Seattle parks. It is so gratifying to visit the urban spaces I’ve worked in and see how the removal of choking weeds and replacing them with native flora opens up the space to more human activity and also its wild habitants.
